One tool. At home and in school.

Every learner gets a tutor that understands their learning needs, knows what they are working on and when they need help, along a learning journey connected to the national curriculum. Teachers and parents can see the learning insights they need to support the next step. Same tool in school and at home.

For parents

See where they're stuck

Pladdra keeps parents in the loop with learning insights that help you understand and support your child's progress across the curriculum. It turns homework into more meaningful learning at home.

For students

Asks before it answers

Pladdra works with you, at your pace and at the level you need. It is not about quick answers; it is about exploration, understanding and becoming more independent in your learning.

For teachers

Insight, not just output

Pladdra supports course preparation, lesson planning and follow-up. Learning insights help teachers spot recurring misconceptions, see where students get stuck and choose a useful next action.

For schools

AI built for schools

Pladdra gives schools a structured way to use AI across students, teachers and school leaders, with EU-hosted models, data protection, student safety and effective pedagogy as design principles. Pladdra is made in Sweden by parents, teachers and researchers.

See it working.

Solve the equation: 2x + 4 = 12. What would you do first?
Just give me the answer.
I'll help you get there. What could you do to remove the +4 first?
Subtract 4 from both sides.
Exactly. Then the equation becomes 2x = 8. What should you do next?
Divide both sides by 2, so x = 4.
Yes. Now check it yourself: what do you get if you put x = 4 back into 2x + 4?

How it works.

One question leads to another.

Our promise.

Age-appropriate by default. No open internet.

Data privacy. Hosted in the EU with European providers.

Not a friend. A mentor.

If something serious comes up, a responsible adult is told.

Learning insights from relevant conversations are visible to the responsible adult - parent, teacher, or both.

Learning personalisation, not advertising profiling. No ads. We don't sell user data.

Guides before it gives a finished answer. It starts from what the learner has already tried.

Privacy and GDPR.

Most privacy policies are written to be survived, not read. Here is ours, in plain language.

For families

Your data stays in the EU.

We collect the minimum we need.

Learning profiles are used to adapt support, not for advertising.

We filter names and identifying personal information before data is sent to external AI providers, and de-identify data before optional platform improvement.

Delete means delete, subject to the retention rules that apply to the account.

Export your progress summary anytime, free.

For schools

We sign your data processing agreement (Article 28).

We provide material to support your DPIA and data-protection work.

Run on your own infrastructure where that setup is required and supported.

All sub-processors are listed publicly, so schools can see which companies process data on Pladdra's behalf.

The question is not whether children will use AI. It is whether they will use it to think.

We're a small team of researchers, parents and lifelong learners. We're building Pladdra with families and schools across Sweden.

Families

We are building Pladdra together with families. Leave your email and we will get in touch when we need testers.

We only use your email to contact you about testing. Read our Privacy Policy

Schools

Whole-school access, a signed data agreement and a named person to talk to. We work with schools and municipalities across Sweden and support structured implementation.

FAQ.

Is it really free for families?

Yes. There is no card, no trial period and no upgrade prompt in the family version. The intention is to keep the family version free.

The model works because schools and municipalities pay for the school version, helping cover the family service. We do not sell children's data and there is no advertising business model behind the product.

If the family offer ever changes, existing families will be told directly and in advance.

What ages is it for?

Pladdra adapts to the learner rather than a fixed year group. It can be used across age groups, with language, challenge and support adjusted to the learner's demonstrated level, so a younger learner working ahead and an older learner catching up can both get appropriate support.

Which subjects does it cover?

The full Swedish curriculum is built into Pladdra, and learning can already take place in multiple languages across many subjects.

It can also work with the material and assignments the school actually uses, so the learner can bring in real homework and course material instead of following a separate Pladdra curriculum.

Does Pladdra just do the homework for them?

No. The learning flow is designed to make the learner do the thinking.

When a learner asks for an answer outright, Pladdra first looks for what they have already tried. If they have not started, it helps them find a first step. If they have started, it works from there with questions, hints and feedback rather than jumping straight to a finished answer.

The history example above shows the pattern: instead of listing the causes of the French Revolution, Pladdra asks the learner to name one cause, then helps them connect economic hardship, taxation and political power.

The goal is simple: the fastest useful route through Pladdra should still require the learner to think.

What can I see as a parent?

You can see learning insights from the conversations connected to your child: subjects and topics they are working on, progress, recurring difficulties and where support may help.

That does not mean a parent automatically receives a word-for-word transcript of every conversation. The design is meant to give adults enough insight to support learning without turning the experience into constant surveillance.

Safety-related concerns are handled separately through Pladdra's safeguarding flow.

Can teachers see what my child writes?

Teachers can see learning insights from school-context conversations and the material or learning artefacts that belong to their class or classroom.

Access follows the school's roles and permissions. Unrelated private chat history is not automatically exposed just because someone is a teacher.

Pladdra will make it clear to learners what is visible, to whom and why.

What happens if my child writes something worrying?

If Pladdra detects that a learner is repeatedly trying to bypass the learning flow - for example by pushing for answers without doing the work - or sees signs of mental ill-health, bullying or another serious concern, a responsible adult can be notified. Schools see safety information anonymously by default and can reveal identity only when there is a documented reason and the right permissions.

Safety classification is probabilistic, so human review still matters. Pladdra is there to surface concerns and support the school's or family's real safeguarding process, not replace it.

Do you use our children's data to train AI models?

Not by default. Before data is used to improve Pladdra, it is de-identified so the link to an identifiable child is removed.

Schools can choose whether their de-identified data may be used to improve the platform. That choice is governed by the school's agreement and does not mean selling data or building advertising profiles.

Where is our data stored?

Inside the European Union. That includes the AI processing we use for the school service, not only the surrounding application servers.

Pladdra works with European hosting and processing arrangements, and schools with specific requirements can use supported self-hosted or dedicated infrastructure options.

Our sub-processors are listed openly. A sub-processor is a company that processes data on Pladdra's behalf - for example for hosting or an approved AI service - so schools can see who is involved.

Which AI company is behind it?

No single AI company. Pladdra has a model-routing layer and can use different approved models for different tasks instead of locking the school to one provider.

That lets us change providers when quality, terms, cost or data-protection requirements change. The organisations that actually process data are documented through the relevant agreements and sub-processor list.

How do I delete our data?

Deletion is handled through the account or the school's administration flow, depending on how the account is managed. Data that is deleted is removed according to the applicable retention rules and agreements rather than kept for product use.

Where available, you can export a progress summary first so you keep a useful record of the learning work.

What does it cost for schools?

Pricing depends on the size and setup of the school or municipality. Contact us and we will give you a clear proposal based on the actual deployment.

What do I need to get started?

A device with a browser and a few minutes. Families can start directly; schools get a structured onboarding so roles, classes, privacy and AI settings are configured correctly from the beginning.
